Use Nelson's Grow-N-Thrive liquid plant food on tomato plants for faster growth and maximum production throughout the growing season.

Transplanting - When you transplant seedlings or small container tomato plants, water them in with 1 tbsp./gal. of water applied to the soil to reduce transplant shock and speed root development.  Continue to feed them with this solution every two weeks until the new plants are safely established.  Grow-N-Thrive is a gentle tomato fertilizer that will not burn roots or foliage when properly applied.

Stem and Foliage Growth - Fertilize the established plants every two weeks with 2 tbsp./gal. of water to boost stem and foliage growth.  Apply the solution to the base of the plants.  It is also OK to spray the foliage as long as you apply enough solution so that a good amount drips onto the soil for root feeding.

Flowering - When the plant begins to show flower buds, stop fertilizing for 10 days to two weeks to allow the young fruit to set.  When there are a number of small tomatoes showing on the stems, you can begin again to fertilize every two weeks or so.  This pause in nitrogen application helps trigger the plant to begin producing fruit instead of just growing taller with more foliage.
